Founder & Lead Writer

COACH THOMAS J. ROBINSON, M.ED.

Coach Thomas J. Robinson, M.Ed. was a leading educator for 36 years within the Chicago Public Schools. As a product of Rezin Orr High School, a Chicago Public School, Thomas was a star athlete and all-around sportsman. He attended Northeastern Illinois University earning a Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education and returned to his alma mater, Rezin Orr High School in Chicago, as the Physical Education teacher and Head Coach/Athletic Director for Football, Track & Field, Wrestling, Swimming and Tennis.

In 1990, as a response and an immediate call-to-action, Thomas needed a way to ensure that the young people he coached had an outlet and alternative to the ills that plagued the inner city during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Thus, he turned to the Midwest Football League and brought Chicago its leading Semi-Professional Football Team, The Chicago Falcons. This allowed his former students the chance to continue as a group of young men, occupying their time in a positive and productive light. The team went on to win 8 Championships within different Semi-Professional Conferences over the years. Many of his former students and players attribute their lives being saved due to the many opportunities Thomas provided for young people to be a part of, over the years.

For his efforts and contributions to the minor league football scene, Coach Robinson was inducted into the Minor League American Football Association Hall of Fame, in 2003. Since, eight former Chicago Falcons football players have been inducted into the Minor League American Football Association Hall of Fame under Coach Robinson's tutelage.

With a combined 50+ years of leadership, mentoring, coaching, and servitude, Coach Thomas J. Robinson's mission and passion to help people is truly inspiring and impactful.

Personal:
